An editor is the last writer on a film. Everything the audience ends up feeling was decided at a cut point — which is why I care far more about structure than about effects.

I believe editing isn'tabout cutting footage.It's about deciding what theaudience should feel, when theyshould feel it, and what theyshould remember.
I started with borrowed footage and too many transitions. A lot of deleted effects later, the work got quieter and considerably better — which is the whole argument the films on this site are making.
Today I cut short-form promos, brand pieces and motion-graphics work built vertical-first for Reels, TikTok and Shorts — usually from a first assembly through grade, sound and final delivery. I work best when I'm brought in early enough to argue about structure.
