“Old style is gone. A masterpiece in every single second.”
This one is a statement piece rather than a service ad. The claim is deliberately oversized — a new revolution in the history of video editing — and the visual language had to be large enough to carry it without collapsing into parody.
So the imagery is borrowed from art history and then broken: a classical sculpture holding a laptop beside film strips, a skull cutting straight from a man in a shirt and tie, the Mona Lisa dropped in on the word 'masterpiece'. Each image is a recognisable symbol of 'old' put to work for an argument about 'new'.
It closes on floating eyeballs drifting across the frame — the most surreal shot in the piece, placed last so the film ends on the thing that is hardest to scroll past.
How itwas built.
- Editing
- Five declarations, each landing on its own image. The cut never lets two ideas share a shot, which is what keeps a sixteen-second manifesto from turning into noise.
- Pacing
- Opens with a three-second hold — long for vertical — to earn the scale of the claim, then tightens to roughly two seconds per beat as the argument accelerates.
- Color
- Cold blue key graphics against warm stone and painted surfaces, so the borrowed art-history material and the new graphic elements stay visibly separate.
- Sound Design
- Voiceover carried on a rising bed, with the low end pulled back under each line so the words stay intelligible on a phone speaker.
- Transitions
- Hard cuts on the beat, with scale mismatches used deliberately — a tight skull cutting to a wide painting — so each change of image registers as a jolt.
- Visual Storytelling
- Every symbol is something the audience already knows: statue, skull, Mona Lisa, eyes. Recognition does the work in a film with no time to explain anything.
